5/1 – Overlay Mosaic Crochet, 2 sessions

Mosaic crochet is easy, fun, and elegant. Mosaic Crochet is a colorful crochet technique that entails working rows using different colors to create lovely patterns. It appears very intricate and complicated but it’s super simple. Students will learn the foundation single crochet, how to read a mosaic crochet chart, identifying the back and front loops of a stitch, and an envelope border to finish off your project. Mosaic crochet is highly addictive so come jump headfirst into this exciting crochet technique!

Materials Needed for Class: wool worsted weight yarn (Berroco Vintage is a great option), G/4.5mm crochet hook, highlighter tape, Mosaic crochet book is highly recommended. All products are 10% off at time of class.

Terry loves to help students learn the art of crochet. This class has two sessions. This class includes yarn, hook, accessories, patterns, and professional instruction to complete wrist warmers and hat projects.

In session one, you will learn how to make a chain, how to turn, and single crochet stitch. The homework will be a pair of cute wrist warmers.

Session 2, you will learn to Double Crochet and weave in your ends. The homework will be a warm hat.

5/3 – My First Sock, 4 sessions

Session Dates: May 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th Fridays

Times: 10:30 am to 12:00 pm

Teacher: Terry Brezinsky

You will bring size 5 DPNs and stitch markers. We will provide the worsted-weight yarn for you to make socks. You will learn to knit in the round with DPNs and the essential parts of the sock.

PREREQUISITES: You must know how to knit and purl, and decreases are helpful. Sign up today to save your seat in class.

5/4 – Beginning Tunisian Crochet

Saturday, May 4th at 1:00 pm

Length: 1.5 hours

Terry will teach you the Tunisian Simple Stitch and Knit Stitch while you make a dishcloth.

Bring your favorite size I Tunisian Hook and let’s explore this clever skill.

In session one, you will learn how to cast on, complete the knit stitch, and bind off. The homework will be a pair of cute wrist warmers.

Session 2, you will continue to learn how to cast on and bind off, along with learning the purl stitch. The homework will be a warm hat.

5/8 – Machine Knit Class

5/8 – Learn to Cables with Confidence

Session: May 8th and 29th, Wednesdays

Time: 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm

Class Description: Cables are quite simple to work with and give your knitted items depth and intrigue. They are made by knitting groups of stitches out of order, which sounds complicated, but after this class, you will be a pro at cables. Students will learn to read a cable pattern, how to cable the stitches, and how to keep track of when to cable. This cozy cable cowl drapes over or tucks under your winter coat, keeping you fashionable and warm on cold, windy Oklahoma days.  

Prerequisites: knit, purl, and knitting in the round

Materials Needed for Class: 250 yards of Bulky/chunky yarn, US 15 – 24” circular needles, cable needle & large stitch marker – All purchases made for materials for this class will be discounted by 10%.

Session: May 16th, Thursday

Time: 10:30 am to 12:00 pm

Does your heart beat a little faster when you’re playing with
yarn?
Have you already tried knitting, crocheting and spinning and
want to play with something else?
Then join Deb Broome to play on a loom. Weaving is easier on your hands and fun for your brain.
The looms will be ready for you to play with a shuttle and
weave a piece of cloth to get the feel of the magical mystery
that is weaving. Whether you keep going is up to you.

5/18 – Spinning Wheel Class

Marilyn began her fiber arts journey as a young child as a way for entertainment by her mother. As she grew, her interests expanded to include sewing, twining, crocheting, and knitting. But her favorite is spinning and raising the sheep that produce her fiber.

You will learn the fine art of spinning with a fiber expert. No wheel, not to worry; Marilyn brings wheels for you to explore on—what a great way to learn spinning without the expense of buying a wheel.

If you have never tatted, you will learn the art of tatting with the assistance of knowledgeable tatters from the Lacemakers Guild of Oklahoma. If you tat, you will learn new techniques and continue your journey with future tatting projects.

Beginners will be supplied to tat this cute butterfly.

5/18 – Bobbin Lace Class

Teacher: Members of the Lacemakers Guild of Oklahoma

Beginners will learn the art of bobbin lace with the assistance of knowledgeable tatters from the Lacemakers Guild of Oklahoma. If you already know a few techniques, sign up and continue learning.

5/18 – Needle-Felted Sea Turtle
