Harry Potter Houses Double Knitting Scarf, 2 sessions
Session Dates: April 3rd and April 17th, Wednesdays

Are you a super fan of Harry Potter and want to learn to double knit a cozy warm scarf? Double knitting is a wonderful technique that creates a two-layer fabric with knit stitches on both sides. The scarf is completely reversible and is twice as warm since its double thickness. Students will learn to cast on using the invisible double knit cast on, reading a double knit chart with a flat project, closing the ends on a double knit project, and how to weave in ends on a double knit project. This is the perfect project to introduce you to double knitting and show off your Harry Potter house spirit.
Materials Needed for Class: stitch markers, highlighter tape, straight needles, pattern for scarf, any wool worsted weight yarn (Plymouth Encore is a great option) in your chosen house colors, US 5 or needle size to get a nice double knitting fabric. Purchases at time of class will get 10% off discount.
Pattern: Gryffindor Spirit Scarf, Ravenclaw Spirit Scarf, Hufflepuff Spirit Scarf, or Slytherin Spirit Scarf, found on Ravelry.

Emily Mizer of Ely Knits will teach you how to use a knitting machine while you make a cute, frilly washcloth. Class includes yarn, pattern, use of a knitting machine, and guidance from an experienced knitter/machine knitter. If you have a knitting machine and don’t know how to use it, be sure to let us know you are bringing it and arrive 30 minutes early so that Emily can ensure you have all the correct parts and that your machine is in good working condition.
4/10 – Magic Loop Socks
Session: April 10th and 24th, Wednesdays

Class Description: Have you ever wanted to make your own socks, but you hate knitting with double point needles?!? The magic loop technique is a brilliant method which allows you to knit small-diameter tubes (like socks) using a single long circular needle. No fussing with 4 or 5 different needles while trying to make your socks. Students will learn how to cast on with the magic loop method, changing needles to complete each row, and how to complete the heel and then get back to knitting in the round. Come discover the magic of magic loop sock knitting!
Prerequisites: knit, purl, & knitting in the round
Materials Needed for Class: any sock weight yarn that is a mix of wool and nylon, US 1 or 2 – 40” circular with flexible cord, removable stitch marker, small crochet hook.
Springtime Hedgehog, 2 sessions
Session Dates: April 13th and April 27th, Saturdays

Learn amigurumi best practices and make this adorable hedgehog just in time for fall weather. Students will learn how to crochet a magic ring that is the start for almost all amigurumi projects, reading an amigurumi pattern, eye placement, and sewing techniques for seaming all the amigurumi pieces together to complete Prickles the hedgehog. After this class, you’ll be ready to take on any whimsical amigurumi projects you fall in love with!

yarn?
Have you already tried knitting, crocheting and spinning and
want to play with something else?
Then join Deb Broome to play on a loom. Weaving is easier on your hands and fun for your brain.
The looms will be ready for you to play with a shuttle and
weavea piece of cloth to get the feel of the magical mystery
that is weaving. Whether you keep going is up to you.
4/20 – Spinning Wheel Class

Marilyn began her fiber arts journey as a young child as a way for entertainment by her mother. As she grew, her interests expanded to include sewing, twining, crocheting, and knitting. But her favorite is spinning and raising the sheep that produce her fiber.
You will learn the fine art of spinning with a fiber expert. No wheel, not to worry; Marilyn brings wheels for you to explore on—what a great way to learn spinning without the expense of buying a wheel.
Class costs include fiber, use of wheels, and expert instruction.
4/20 – Tatting Class

If you have never tatted, you will learn the art of tatting with the assistance of knowledgeable tatters from the Lacemakers Guild of Oklahoma. If you tat, you will learn new techniques and continue your journey with future tatting projects.
Beginners will be supplied to tat this cute butterfly.
4/20 – Bobbin Lace Class

4/20 – Felted Tea Cup Flower

April showers bring May Flowers! Join us for this fun needle felting workshop to create bright spring flowers in beautiful antique teacups. We will learn how to work wool over a delicate wire armature to create realistic stem, leaf effects, and other felting techniques, resulting in a cheerful spring flower to brighten even the gloomiest April day. All supplies for the class, including the antique teacup and saucer, are included.
There will be a 30 minute lunch break during the class.
