Beginning Knit, 2 sessions

Tuesday, March 5th @ 10:30 am

Length: 2 sessions of 1.5 hours per session

Session Dates: March 5th and 19th

Terry loves to help students learn the art of knitting. This class has two sessions. This class includes yarn, needles, accessories, patterns, and professional instruction to complete glove and hat projects.

In session one, you will learn how to cast on, complete the knit stitch, and bind off. The homework will be a pair of cute wrist warmers.

Session 2, you will continue to learn how to cast on and bind off, along with learning the purl stitch. The homework will be a warm hat.

Do you love knitted items? Then, sign up for our Beginning Machine Knitting Class. You don’t have to purchase a knitting machine to see if this is the best knitting process for you. Emily Mizer of Ely Knits will teach you how to use a knitting machine while you make a cute, frilly washcloth. Class includes yarn, pattern, use of a knitting machine, and guidance from an experienced knitter/machine knitter. If you have a knitting machine and don’t know how to use it, be sure to let us know you are bringing it and arrive 30 minutes early so that Emily can ensure you have all the correct parts and that your machine is in good working condition.


Spinning Wheel Class

Marilyn began her fiber arts journey as a young child as a way for entertainment by her mother. As she grew, her interests expanded to include sewing, twining, crocheting, and knitting. But her favorite is spinning and raising the sheep that produce her fiber.

You will learn the fine art of spinning with a fiber expert. No wheel, not to worry; We provide wheels for you to explore on—what a great way to learn spinning without the expense of buying a wheel.

Class costs include fiber, use of wheels, and expert instruction.


Tatting Class

Teacher: Members of the Lacemakers Guild of Oklahoma

If you have never tatted, you will learn the art of tatting with the assistance of knowledgeable tatters from the Lacemakers Guild of Oklahoma. If you tat, you will learn new techniques and continue your journey with future tatting projects.

Beginners will be supplied to tat this cute butterfly.


Bobbin Lace Class

Try Out Weaving Session

Does your heart beat a little faster when you’re playing with
yarn?
Have you already tried knitting, crocheting and spinning and
want to play with something else?
Then join Deb Broome to play on a loom. Weaving is easier on your hands and fun for your brain.
The looms will be ready for you to play with a shuttle and
weavea piece of cloth to get the feel of the magical mystery

Fixing Mistakes in Knitting, 2 sessions

Have you ever made a mistake in your knitting or pulled your needles out of your work by mistake?? Not to worry! This class will show you how to spot mistakes, fix a dropped stitch, correct a knit stitch to a purl and vice versa, insert a lifeline, rip out multiple rows of knitting, get your stitches back on to your needles and get them properly orientated, and fix a incorrectly leaning cable. You’ll be able to fix your own mistakes with confidence! Being able to spot and fix mistakes in your knitting is incredibly rewarding and grows your confidence to tackle more challenging knitting projects.

Materials Needed for Class: complete Fixing Mistakes Swatch before class (follow chart or written directions for the swatch located below); we suggest you use any wool blend worsted weight yarn (Plymouth Encore is a great option) – don’t use dark colors. Be sure and bring your needles and size US 7 and size G crochet hook. 10% off store purchases for this class.
