Juniper Moon Farm produces several commercial yarn sourced and milled from the finest farms in the world. On their CSA farm, they raise registered Angora Goats, registered Cormo, Cotswold and Babydoll Southdown sheep. They are dedicated to producing the finest fleeces, roving and yarn by giving their animals the best possible care. They are deeply committed to raising our goats and sheep on a natural diet of pasture and hay for as much of the year as possible. They have also made a conscious decision to have their fleeces processed by a small, family-owned mill, rather than sending them to a big commercial processor. It is that extra attention to detail making it worth the added expense and slightly longer return time. We are pleased to announce that we have started to carry a few of their yarns and will expand over time!
Right now we carry:
- Sabine – made of 30% royal llama, 30% merino wool, and 40% cotton. It is worsted weight and has about 218 yards per skein. This is a wonderful yarn to start knitting/crocheting after the new year to get ready for the spring! It is light and fun to work with.
- Herriot – made for 100% alpaca. It is worsted weight and would make a wonderful holiday gift for that someone special on your list. It is soft to the touch and we have a beautiful array of colors. It has about 218 yards per skein.
